Delsys was pleased to hold the annual reception of the 18th Annual Meeting of the Society for the Neural Control of Movement in Naples, Florida. The reception was in honor of Gerald Gottlieb. It was a small gesture to show our appreciation for Dr. Gottlieb’s lasting influence on Motor Control Research.
About Dr. Gerald Gottlieb, Ph.D.
Gerald Gottlieb, Ph.D., received his undergraduate training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (B.S., 1962, Electrical Engineering). He received the first part of his graduate training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.S., 1964, Electrical Engineering) and the second part at the University of Illinois Medical Center (Ph.D., 1970, Bioengineering). He has been a member if the Neuromuscular Research Center at Boston University since 1994.
Dr. Gottlieb’s research centers on understanding how the nervous system controls voluntary movement and on the relationships between EMG signals and movement. He received an NIH Research Career Development Award, 1976-1981, and his research has been funded by the NIH since 1977. He has co-authored over 90 peer reviewed articles and 29 book chapters. He has three articles with more than 200 citations and two other manuscripts that have been cited more than 100 times. His h factor is 32. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) in 1991 and of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) in 1999.
